Regional Sales Manager – Southern Germany, Austria & German Speaking Switzerland

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within our European Subsidiary, Thoratec Europe Limited, for a Regional Sales Manager for southern Germany, Austria and Switzerland to be responsible for the sales and co-ordination of clinical / technical support of Thoratec’s range of Ventricular Assist Devices in the assigned area. This direct sales role is supported by a team of Clinical Specialists and Technicians.

Reporting to the European Director of Sales & Marketing, your responsibilities will include:

• To acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Thoratec Ventricular Assist Device product range and other company products.
• To develop the market to achieve targeted sales and profitability within the region.
• To identify and build relationships with key influences and cardiac surgery units throughout the region.
• To sell the concept, on a consultative level, to cardiac and vascular surgeons and maintain a close relationship with existing users and units.
• To participate in the formulation and execution of the Sales and Marketing plan for the geographic area

Candidate Profile -We are looking for a candidate who has sales success in the cardiovascular arena. They will be able to demonstrate that they know, and are accepted by, cardiac surgeons and staff throughout their region.

The successful candidate will:-

• Educated to degree standard – ideally in a life science and perhaps a background in nursing, perfusion, circulatory assist or critical care medicine.
• Have a consistent track record of consultative sales achievement in the cardiac arena, particularly in the areas of cardiac surgery.
• Have experience of the operating room and knowledge of operating room practices and protocol. candidates must be able to command the respect, at peer level, of both surgeons and physicians as well as nursing and technical staff.
• Ideally have an understanding of US business culture and, perhaps have worked with an international company.
• Fluency in German and English is essential
